Canada: funding up to CAD 100,000 for agricultural technology

An opportunity to invest in Compact fruit harvesting machines

Farmers in British Columbia (Canada) can access new funding opportunities to adopt innovative agricultural technologies through the B.C. On-Farm Technology Adoption Program (BCOFTAP), an initiative delivered by Innovate BC in collaboration with the Province of British Columbia.

The program supports farmers who want to modernize their operations by adopting technologies that improve productivity, efficiency and farm profitability.

Applications for the current intake are open from February 24 to April 6, 2026.

Up to 65% of project costs covered

The program provides cost-shared funding covering up to 65% of the technology investment, with a maximum contribution of CAD 100,000 per project.

The goal is to help farms adopt technologies that reduce labour-intensive tasks and improve the efficiency of farm operations.

Funding decisions are expected by June 1, 2026, and approved technologies must be implemented by March 2027.

Eligible technologies

The program supports the adoption of commercially available technologies that help farms improve operational efficiency, particularly in labour-intensive activities.

Eligible technologies may include equipment and platforms used in fruit harvesting and orchard operations, among other agricultural technologies.

Funding can support the purchase of Compact machines

Farmers in British Columbia may use this funding opportunity to invest in fruit harvesting carts and orchard platforms, such as the solutions developed by Compact.

Compact machines are designed to improve the efficiency of harvesting operations and support farm workers during fruit picking, helping orchards optimize labour and productivity.
